College athletes (regardless of race) are “uncompensated”? Good one.
Do these football players chip in to pay the salary of Nick Saban, the rest of the coaching staff, and all the trainers who develop their skill and bodies to become NFL-caliber players?

Do these football players pay for the stadiums in which they showcase their skills to the world (including NFL scouts) to build their brand and increase their reputation.

While elite athletes certainly help generate millions in revenue, they are also responsible for millions in expenses. To say nothing of the expensive infrastructure built up over decades that allows them to go make a living (often a fantastic living) at the next level.

“Yeah, but most college football players don’t get to the NFL.” This is true. But those are the same college football players who don’t do a ton to meaningfully move the revenue needle for their school.

None of this really addresses her argument that black athletes should go to HBCUs. But the narrative about “uncompensated” college football players is so tired.
