People who like capitalism understand that that’s not the only important
consideration and that regulations are sometimes helpful. In this particular case, if you let CFB programs pay whatever they want, it would ruin competitive balance and severely damage the sport IMO. And that wouldn’t be in anyone’s interest.
But the way, most arguments allowing players to be paid a wage still limits that wage. That’s not pure capitalism, either.
