Fans have not 'left by droves'...
The first mistake is thinking CB is an equal sample of the fanbase.
Most people are connected to BYU through:
1) Alma mater
2) They are LDS
3) The 1980's
#1... Its super hard to get into BYU. Most kids will end up at other schools (swingling allegiance to those schools)
#2... These people will always be fans.
#3... If you remember the heydays of BYU you are old and don't understand how to use your phone.
BYU has had higher game attendance this year than last year. Saying the true fans have left is wrong. Fairweather fans will always come and go.
