I think they have a shot. But BYU is actually helping them. If BYU had a

losing record no way Utah would get in over Oklahoma or a 1 loss sec team. They would have only 2 wins against teams with winning records. I am not trying to give BYU credit I think Utah's schedule will likely still keep them out of the playoffs. BYU is very average but if they finish 8-4 Utah's schedule will just be considered weak instead of horrible and will be better than Oklahoma's because Houston and UCLA had such bad seasons.

I think most likely a 1 loss SEC team gets the 4th spot. After that it is toss up between OU and pac 12 champ. Oregon loss to Auburn will be the reason the SEC gets 2 teams.
