Maybe. Alabama, Oklahoma, LSU (if they lose to Georgia), tOSU (if they lose
to Penn State), and even Minnesota may have a say. utah will have the least impressive resume of that bunch, by far, even if they beat Oregon. Assuming Bama, Oklahoma, and Minnesota run the table, of course.
Oklahoma will play 2 more ranked teams, including Okie St on the road, before the committee makes its final selection. Bama will play at Auburn, which beat Oregon at a neutral site. If either one runs the table, they could well finish ranked ahead of utah.
If tOSU beats Michigan but loses to Penn St, which runs the table, tOSU and Penn St will likely both be ranked ahead of utah. It’s a mystery to me why Penn State is behind utah and Oregon now — they have the same record and a much stronger resume against a much harder schedule. I guess the committee is overly preoccupied with the dates on which games are played.
If Minnesota runs the table, beating Wisconsin and undefeated tOSU in the CCG, they might end up ahead of utah also.
LSU should be in even if they lose to Georgia in their CCG, IMO.
