If LSU beats Georgia, then Bama would be the #2 team in the SEC pecking order
and will have a great chance to get a CFP bid, just like they did as non-champs in 2017.
If Georgia beats LSU, then it probably does get more complicated for Bama — but I wouldn’t say impossible. In fact, this is the scenario I’m rooting for. It would be awesome if 3 SEC teams got in and 3 P5 conferences were shut out of the playoff. This would do more to accelerate playoff expansion than anything else.
It’s just too bad that Notre Dame lost to Michigan, and that Clemson didn’t lose that UNC game — 3 SEC teams plus Notre Dame would be my dream scenario.
