several of our best DE recruits have had career ending injuries early on
Hinds and Tuifua were great talent finds... and when you naturally struggle at that position to recruit (for reasons stated elsewhere), health is another blow to the gut when trying to roll out a premier position group.
Think about it, we've had to put guys playing MLB in the NFL at DE 2 of the last 3 years.
