Undergrad at BYU (go cougs) and a masters at the University of Alabama (roll tide). I cheer for both, but if they ever play head to head, I'll be wearing blue and taking heat here in Alabama.

Other than 1 year as a toddler before I cared about football and my BYU years, I lived outside of the Utah bubble, so I don't have to hear all the nonsense that makes the rivalry toxic. I imagine that helps me be ambivalent towards the Yewts when not playing BYU. I follow them, but not more than I do any of the other teams we play. I even want them to win other games (just like all the other teams on our schedule) because it makes our wins look better and our losses not as bad.

I would hope that if I were in Utah and confronted by yewts behaving badly, I could turn the other cheek and shrug it off ... I'm sure that is easier said than done.
