The other point that needs to be addressed, is that the BCS (CFP) is a cartel..
That rewards blue bloods. And so the same system that looks down upon Utah ala Paul Feinstein's comments "Who cares about Utah?" also prejudices BYU.

BYU has a tragic history of getting ignored because they "play in the Mountain time zone," or "no one sees their games," or "they don't recruit the same type of athletes as Oklahoma."

We saw it in 1996 when they deserved to go to a bigger bowl.
We saw it in Crouton's first year when they deserved consideration for a bigger bowl.

Anyone who is not an SEC school, OSU, Michigan, Penn st, Notre Dame, USC, Oklahoma, Texas or Clemson (probably missing someone else), is going to be treated misfairly under the current system, even if it gets renamed and rebranded.

Yes, maybe Utah was overrated in terms of their record, but to just dismiss them out of hand because "they aren't Oklahoma," is the same unfair logic that has historically been used against BYU, TCU, BSU, and even Minnesota and smaller P5 schools.

One day, BYU will be in a position to make some noise. It may be as the G5 representative in the NY Day bowl, it may be in the playoffs if they can go undefeated with a tougher schedule. At that time, you don't want the Paul Feinstein's of the world saying, "Eh, BYU is just like Utah, they don't recruit against the blue bloods and don't have the athletes. Let's not send them to a NY6 Bowl over an SEC team with 2 losses, because the SEC team can compete."

Your own words will come back to condemn you.

Remember Paul's final words: No one wants to watch Utah. Is that true? and even if so, in what other sport do we decide things based on what people want to watch? If baseball were run this way, it would be the Yankees and Dodgers every year.
I love college FB, but don't plan on watching any of the playoffs because there are no underdogs to cheer for; just 4 teams with humungous built in advantages over teams like Utah or BYU. If Baylor or Minnesota or pretty much any non traditional power had made it, they may not have faired well, but at least I'd tune in to see if they could make some noise. If Utah had made it, you could all tune in to watch them get humiliated and laugh at them. But does one person on here have a routing interest in LSU vs. Oklahoma unless you live in those states or went to those schools? Meh. There is no David vs. Goliath here. We've just got Goliath vs. Goliath's cousin and Goliath's brother.
