This guy makes me absolutely angry. You did something life-threateningly stupid. Don’t try to play it off. Take some
ownership, show some humility, and let everyone know how big you screwed up so the people you’re teaching don’t assume it’s not that big of a deal.
It’s that kind of prideful nonchalance that gets people like him in trouble in the first place.
