The two things BYU can control are 1. Dial back the number of P5 teams back to historical norms (2-3 a year)
2. Improve the barriers to entry and retention which currently exist in the university.
They can't control their P5 membership status (which is an increasingly larger source of the recruiting woes BYU experiences) but there are things they can reasonably do to make life easier on themselves.
