as an intern trying to get people discharged from an inpatient service to a long term care facility. I also had many opportunities to "speak" with their physicians for approval of exams or treatments which they had denies. Wasn't fun. Not saying private is perfect, but the decreased reimbursement isn't worth it for some of the headaches.
