I completely agree with number 1. He is completely correct. We need better data and we missed the boat on accurate prevalence data.
One thing I didn’t like was that I felt he didn’t give enough credit to the fact that the test he says is the answer didn’t exist 3-4 weeks ago. He made it seem so simple that seroprevalence testing is the answer and we need to do it.
I’m sure those who recommended the shut down agree. But they and the people making projections were basing it off of data available at the time. And with inaction itself being an action, they had to chose between two really unsavory choices.
I am grateful he moved past second-guessing and wanted to focus on the future.
