My biggest one for sure was when I was a junior in HS. This girl sat in front of me who I had a HUGE crush on. She would always turn around and ask me how my weekend was, if I had any fun plans coming up, if I wanted to be partners on a group project, etc... Being 17 at the time and having always been very shy, I never ONCE considered that she might like me too. I was always so scared of talking to her too much, because I didn't want to screw up... ... ... Uggghhh...

Well one day, I went to a stake dance at my cousin's stake and suddenly a girl's choice dance comes up. I started walking out to get a drink 'cause I didn't really want to dance. Well SHE SHOWED UP. I had NO idea she was even there, and she asked me if I would dance with her. I was SO excited, but I COMPLETELY blanked and my mind went to complete mush... She would ask me questions, and I would give one-word answers, I even remember telling her "I don't really know what to say" a few times... ... After that slow-dance, I TRIED talking to her, but was still super awkward and her friends came over to "rescue" her... She didn't talk to me much after that...

Still makes me cringe to this day to think about. If I could go back in time, I would treat that situation so much differently, but MAN... I knew THAT NIGHT that I totally blew it.

Honorable mention: Sophomore year of college, another girl I had a big crush on asked me if I wanted to go watch an upcoming meteor shower in the canyon. Just the two of us... We shared a blanket, but I was too afraid to make a move... GAH.

With age and hindsight comes wisdom, I guess...
