Yes. I prescribe it often for things like stage fright. It's a
Blood pressure med, but it keeps the heart rate steady, and sometimes that is all a person needs to keep from progressing from being nervous to having a full panic attack.

That being said, it doesnt help the anxiety state. I agree with those who caution against Ativan. Ativan is addictive and can make you more anxious after it wears off.

You might consider an SSRI like Prozac or Zoloft. They work slowly, but can give you your life back, not addictive (but should be stopped slowly if you are on it for a long time), and over time it can help you get better rather than make things worse (like Ativan)
