We still had economic stagnation the cold war, russia going into Afghanistan, the AIDS epidemic, the crack epidemic, the CIA continuing to destabilize central and South american countries and aiding in genocides across the globe, the us getting involved in wars that arent wars in the ME, police brutality leading to riots, moral panics, the FBI and ATF sieges at Ruby Ridge and Waco, bombings at abortion clinics, government buildings, the rise of school shootings riots after teams won big games, riots after teams lost big games, and riots at big concerts and that all led up to a terrorist we funded and trained in the 80s being aided SA nationals attacking us on 9/11. The only thing that was slightly better in the 80s and 90s is there was no social media and if you were a middle class white family you got to see a bit of money while distracted by cheap goods from foreign countries.
