Up the risk reward for sure. Now it is just reward. Firm up greens as well. Harder to control shots from more rough.
Two main things courses can do to keeps scores from being too easy. US Open does it every year and fans love it. More regular tour events need to do it as well.
Try to keep the winner in the -5 to -15 range.

285 used to be really long. Now its a PGA Tour bunt. Equipment has made huge strides. Course design needs to adapt.
