Sounds like it could be an issue with heel drop.
Herl drop is the differential between the height of the shoe at the heel v. at the toe. The lower that differential, the more stretch you are putting on youf calf and achilles.

While the new kicks likely have a pretty sizeable differential, I'd wager that the memory foam is letting your heel drop more than your calves would like. I'd consider looking into an insole with a bit mpre structure and support than the memory foam.
