Check your foot mechanics and see if you over or under pronate.
A few years ago I ran in Asics Gel Kayano which is a support shoe. My calves hurt after every run. Had my foot mechanics checked and I needed a neutral or cushioned shoe. Once I switched I don't have the calf problem anymore. Now I just have sleep and motivation problems.
