Picking out a sarcastic comment to use as absolute truth won't prove anything. Eyeballs and dollars are flowing towards one league in a more lopsided way than ever before. Even if I am wrong about EPL teams winning the UCL more frequently in the future it wont change the reality that the league is superior. Beating up on European giants Granada and Getafe week in and week out may boost your UEFA coefficient and Elo but it doesn't fix a lopsided broken product that the masses find inferior. By allowing rich owners to manipulate finances this problem is only going to grow. No one is going to go invest in Real Betis or Fiorentina. they are going to invest in Leicester City, Wolves and Sheffield because people watch those teams and they can make some of their money back in a richer league.
