They aren't employees. What makes you think they are deserving
of any of the revenue, health care, and other benefits that employees receive? They are subsidized by the school and by the student body. It won't be long before college sports end as we know them. Many of the smaller schools survived by having games against the larger schools.

I see more of the sport reduction approach that Stanford implemented impacting schools across the board. Those schools that operated on a small margin before Covid will be particularly affected and any sport that was subsidized by football is on the chopping block.
