Having a tablet/laptop handy for google searching, opening component manual PDFs, and youtube vids is ideal. Each motherboard/OS/BIOS is a bit different and it seems there are always little things that need to be done before it all plays well together and you can download the OS.
Booting from USB-stick is so much better than the old way of DVD/CD/bootdrive, I don't remember it being too difficult, especially since the USB is connected directly to the motherboard, so you don't have to worry about Comm issues between the mo-board and the drives like in the old days. Those were a pain.
I'd rather have 2 (ideally 3) 24" monitors than a single large screen, but that's just me and my workflow. I cannot go back to single monitor video photo/editing again. Multiple screens is the best tool for an efficient workflow.
Sounds like a fun build and a great project!
