A fun alternate: Take I70 out of green river and hang a right at mile marker 147. Open the gate and close it behind
you and head up the canyon. Stop at the awesome indian writing in the center of the slot canyon and then head out to the buckhorn draw intersection. Take this north over Swayzee's bridge and on into Castle Dale once you hit the Green River Cutoff Road.
From there head up to Huntington and over the canyon to Electric Lake and down Fairview Canyon, onto Highway 89 Continue West to Nephi to avoid Spanish Fork Canyon (that's the point right) and take I15 into Provo.
And there you have it. The scenery on this route would be tough to beat too.

Then you made the correct decision. I had to take that route before due to fire up the canyon on the way towards Soldier
