The first canyon is the best and requires a 4wd, the rest is graded county roads and pavement
So you'd want a truck or 4wd. Below is what you are in for at the first leg. If you don't have a 4wd, you can skip this by getting off at temple mountain road and heading north. Verify with a map though, I'm going off memory. Then the entire loop should be car friendly in great weather.

Then you made the correct decision. I had to take that route before due to fire up the canyon on the way towards Soldier

A fun alternate: Take I70 out of green river and hang a right at mile marker 147. Open the gate and close it behind
