The CFP has not provided any rankings yet, so we have no idea where they will
put BYU. From the makeup of the committee, it seems like BYU is not going to have a lot of friends on the committee. The CFP has no obligation to follow the AP rankings or coaches poll rankings.
We have seen BYU get stiffed before.
But its an interesting point you make. if you had some guarantee that BYU is in the NY6 at 10-0, then perhaps its not worth the risk to schedule one or two more games.
