On the schedule being UH/Boise/SDSU is just a stone cold lock for a NY6. I think a lot of noise will be made and hype will be generated between the BIG10 and Pac12 coming back. We have no idea who will be good and which teams will emerge similar to how BYU has emerged as a big time team this season. We need to hang our hat on 1) quantity of games and opportunities we’re giving the selection committee to see BYU in action and in different venues and 2) the way in which we’re winning these games. We also have no clue how the bowl game situation is going to shape up. There may be a shortage of big bowl games and the criteria of getting invited may leave a team like BYU on the outside looking in.
We obviously can’t control not having any P5 competition on our resume. But having a bunch of games that show us winning and winning big will do nothing but enhance the perception that the committee has toward BYU. Everything else is outside our control and comes down to our opponents winning a lot of games and other good P5 schools dropping more games than they should.
