The answer is no and yes.
They are somewhat a cultural misfit with most of the PAC-12 but they are not misfits in the way the article describes CU and NU because they don’t have a history of success in another viable conference that is looming over them. You could argue the both CU and NU downgraded their football programs with their moves. Utah didn’t. They could go 0-12 and not a single Utah fan would clamor for the good old days of the MWC
