Its funny because there are tons of white Mexicans, but its the generally darker skinned campensinos who migrate to the US (Americans would be shocked at the level of racism across Latin America), so Americans think of Mexicans as mostly brown skinned. But Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Honduras, Cuba, Argentina, etc. all have large populations of what Americans would consider "white" people.
