I do remember that BYU did a study once to ask mid-career alumni if they were satisfied with their choice of major. Engineers were overwhelmingly satisfied while many others were not.

I wonder if it’s because of job satisfaction or just that expectations going in aren’t as high. Engineering isn’t often glamorized as being sexy, but it checks the boxes as far as work/life balance, compensation, opportunity, etc.
