Initially yes...but once you get going and get some seniority being a pilot is
a great gig. Get paid very well for part time work (pilots can only fly a maximum of 1000 hours per year). When I was at a firm, we were expected to bill 2000 hours a year, which meant like 2500 hours of actual work.
And yes... I know pilots have other things to do besides the 1000 hours, but many of them also have part time jobs to supplement an already good income.
