The time away from home is the hardest part. It can be tough. When I am home though I am home for days at a time. I don't bring my work home with me. I leave the airplane and forget about work until I have to go back.
I don't spend more than two nights away from home per week. My average month is built with 18-19 days off a month. My schedule is flexible enough that I can give away flying, which I always do, so that I usually get to 21 days off a month.
I make enough money to pay the bills.
I don't do it for the travel benefits. We rarely use them. It's not glamorous. Nobody gets into it for that.
I do it because the work is enjoyable, it pays well and provides me with a lot of time at home.
