I usually tell people who are for the minimum wage that they are the equivalent

of climate change deniers. They really don't like it. But there is more consensus among economists that the minimum wage injures the poor than there is about climate change.

If you're really interested in educating yourself about the minimum wage (which is a price floor for labor) there are plenty of sources. I'd start with Henry Hazlitt's book, Economics in One Lesson. There's a great chapter about the minimum wage.
