Story from BYU professor who had recently lost his wife at the time.
I’m paraphrasing but the story went something like this.
“Me and my wife have always been saying we will go on a huge vacation when I retire, we’ve put off doing a lot of the things we would have liked to do for later. She died over a year ago and now I’m going on those vacations alone”
Like you said Be smart, but live life. I’m willing to give up some luxuries later to not be miserable now
