But I think Kuhse ran an even tighter offense this season. They really took advantage of our lack of discipline.
I do hope you realize Pope played with an arm tied behind his back, though. He's actually been doing it much of the season for the sake of our offense & our rotation. He's hasn't only been holding back a remarkably talented athlete (you know who I'm talking about), but that night against SMC he was also likely disciplining two guys who typically get a lot more time then they did (& whose minutes went basically back to normal against USF).
If he could've afforded it, I think he woulda held those two out entirely. SMC really doesn't have the teeth this year it normally has, but Bennett almost always has his kids ready to manage the clock & the scoring w the best of em. His strategy more than anything is to limit your personnel strengths, & force the pace of the game to a minimum.
