to incorporate so raw an X-factor as Gideon. It becomes hard not to just let him do his thing & get us some points.
At the same time Pope is teaching Gideon how to play within an D1 offense (& ours specifically), I think he's hoping the team can play at a higher, cleaner level of execution BEFORE he inserts Gideon for longer periods of time. (Though as we saw against St Johns & St Marys, Pope isn't against turning to Gideon if we just ain't getting it done without him.
That's my theory, anyways.
