There will always be players that feel they want/deserve more playing time and frankly they may have a better experience going somewhere else. Is it better to ride the bench at BYU or start at a worse program? Each kid needs to make their own choice.
I find it interesting that you have these issues with both Pope and Kalani, I'm not saying your observations aren't correct but both coaches have placed a huge emphasis on team culture. Pope with "best locker room in America" and Kalani with "love one another" and the family atmosphere he is trying to promote.
There will always be exceptions and individuals will have negative experiences but by and large, I'm not sure what else they can do in these areas without sacrificing their primary job description.
