he has the same maturity as my 8 year old. If we don't tell him to brush his teeth, bathe, get ready for the day, eat breakfast, do his homework etc, etc, he will never, ever do it on his own. Why oh why won't he just grow up and be somewhat responsible? When I was his age my parents did almost nothing for me, I would wake up to an empty house every morning. I got myself ready, walked to school, did my homework and school work without anyone ever telling me and did great in school. My parents wouldn't actually come home till around 7pm every night so I basically took care of myself, which is why it's so hard to relate to my son, he has no drive or ambition whatsoever. If I let him he'd literally just play videogames all day. The crazy thing is he's super smart, he could be crushing it in school but he just doesn't care and would rather act like a little kid. Please tell me he'll grow out of it.
