Believe it or not, not filing workers comp and paying for injuries yourself
is often considered insurance fraud. The reason is carriers can modify the cost of the your premiums based on the risk of injury at your business and if they don't have an accurate view of the risks because you have withheld injury information they are not charging you correct premiums. It is ironic because you would think they don't want to pay the claims but they want to know that information otherwise they charge low premiums and only get hit with the most expensive cases.
