Agreed. If you look at most high school teams that have a multi-season

championship run you’ll find that they’re running either the double wing or wing-t. Why? Run with precision it’s based off of misdirection and you don’t have to have the most skilled players to run it. It’s an offense that is not based on personnel, although skilled players only enhance.

My guess is that the DL mentioned above was just flat out physically dominant or they O just wasn’t running it with the necessary precision. Or, a bit of both.

I’ve seen a team in a state championship season run the exact same play to the same side about 80% of the season with minor wrinkles and just roll over teams.

High schools still use wings a lot and are very successful. Dirty Dan’s Colton High used it back in his HS days.
