Another interesting fact about DHS and the double wing is that Coach Johnson

at Clearfield modeled his offense after it. By the late 90s/early 2000s, Clearfield was always kicking Davis’ butt with their own offense. Davis moved away from the double wing for the first time in decades after that. Clearfield won a state championship under Johnson in 1992 but it helped that they had Kevin Dyson that year.

High schools still use wings a lot and are very successful. Dirty Dan’s Colton High used it back in his HS days.
