Last year my daughter went out for middle school basketball and made the JV team (she was a bench player). During one game that was particularly close at the end the amount of yelling / vitriol was unreal. People were going off on each other and at these middle school girls, since my child was on the bench, we were just amazed at the parents thinking this was the end of the world. My daughter refused to play the next season because of the craziness in the stands.
