That's a distortion of what I've been saying.
Did the OLine get better under Grimes? Yes.
Did Grimes do it by himself? No....never said that. Credit to Mateos last year for taking good material and improving it.

This idea that a sudden change in talent makes all the difference in nonsense. USC has talent coming out their ears and so does Texas, but lousy culture and terrible coaching have ruined more 4/5-Star talent than BYU has ever had. Talented player undeveloped are wasted.

Do I think that Grimes and Mateos could do with the talent from 7 years ago what they did last year? No....talent is critical, but so is coaching both by the OC and by the position coach. Grimes is a Head Coach now because he's really good and he took Mateos with him for a reason. Trying to say that just because we have more talent now than we had before completely offsets the loss of those kinds of coaches is illogical.

Talent isn't the only thing that matters. Culture, effort, and player development are just as important.
