I have traveled 35 minutes each way on I-15 for work every day for nearly 20 years. I absolutely love working from home and not dealing with the accidents that seemingly happen at least twice a week causing stress about getting into the office late and possibly missing meetings etc.
I can take the occasional 8:00am meeting from home with no stress after a workout in the morning and then have the flexibility to run errands around town or take the kids to school or pick them up in the afternoon. Ive also been able to slip out and practice baseball with our boys or help my wife with other things.
Sitting in a chair at an office for 8 hours a day is rather pointless IMO. I still do lunches with buddies and colleagues once a week or so and get that connection. It almost makes me cringe to think I would need to go back into the office 5 days a week here in a few months. I'm grateful my employer is talking about being very flexible with those roles that are customer facing (me) going forward.
Edit/Addition: I do have a home office which allows me to have a dedicated workspace to get away from the family. I can see how not having this would be difficult to work from home much of the time.
