Listen, I get that as the HC you deserve a lot of credit for being the leader of the organization.
But it didn't take any guts to fire Detmer. Dude was nearly the worst OC in the history of BYU and KS continued rhetoric of..."I don't know what's wrong, I just need to go watch more film" was pretty indicative of who Kalani was at the time.
Yes he hired Grimes and deserves A TON of credit. If Grimes did one thing, it was changing the culture of the team. I honestly don't think that was a KS thing. Grimes did that. I firmly believe, and from the limited exposure I have to the program which reinforces my opinions, KS was heavily mentored by Grimes. He learned a lot.
But again, my point is I think the majority of the success over the past 2-3 seasons is a result of Coach Grimes more than KS. Yes KS gets credit for hiring Grimes and he certainly learned a lot from Grimes.
I just hope with the get Grimes version of KS and not the previous version.

It is funny how we attribute this to Kalani when it really appears that Grimes, Pugh/Mateo were the ones to really go
