People are constantly declining hospice for their loved ones because they think
It’s going to make them die sooner. Doesn’t matter how many times you explain it to them. It’s sad.

We had a 96 year old lady on home health last month who needed hospice. The family insisted that they didn’t want hospice for their mom in case something came up and she needed to see her neurologist for something (dementia patient). I had to remind the son that the neurologist was also recommending hospice. Family still insisted on no hospice. Patient died last week. She also had a couple of bed sores that had gotten very bad. I felt terrible for her. My hospice nurse could have helped them out so much.

Might be time to pull a Vivint and change the word hospice to something else to make people more interested.
