daughter on the other side of the country kept saying "full speed ahead" with the ventilation, CRRT, tube feeds, vasopressors, etc, was the worst part about the job. People feel guilty for making the decision to put mom and dad on hospice or to withdrawal care, but in reality they just end up torturing their poor folks, prolonging the inevitable, and making their last few weeks even more hellish, while costing the taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars.
