People will buy what people will buy. The blockchain entry does not contain the
media, or even any reference to it, thus it doesn't fall under copyright restrictions. It's very much the same as selling ownership of a star. A fun novelty, but has no basis in reality.

It's the issuing entity that carries any weight with the nft. Those NBA NFTs went for a lot of money because the NBA said they were real. If BYU is the issuing entity, it carries the weight of BYU's endorsement.

I could make an NFT representing your soul and sell it. Doesn't mean anyone should buy it, and it certainly has nothing to do with your soul, it merely says that I say that nft represents your soul. Now if God issued the nft and set it represented your soul, that nft would probably be worth something.

I don't write all this to state that I'm smarter than you etc, merely to point out that BYU does not need to necessarily go through some laborious process of securing media rights to issue nfts. They can just issue an fts, state what they represent, and that's it. People will buy or people will not buy. The market will decide.
