There is a strong correlation, but not causation. It's something coaches want to
keep an eye on because it can correlate to more wins. It's not something we need to wring our hands about. 3rd and long is a little more disconcerting, but overall the D has been effective even if it is boring.
The O was disappointing last week. The D wasn't up to their standard by not getting a turnover, and not getting stops when they had the chance either because of penalties or other mistakes. I don't love Tuiaki's defensive philosophy but that's not why we lost.
