IMO other teams are seeing BYU on film and realizing they cannot win with
their normal scheme, so are completely changing things up to surprise BYU, take away their prep and maybe give them a chance. It's a testament to how good this BYU team is.
BYU just needs to realize some teams are going to do this and be ready to adjust quickly and or have a couple back up plans in place for the unexpected.
This philosophy only worked for Boise because of the turnovers. Without those I think BYU still wins a close one. I think Coastal did some of this last year and other teams will do it in the future.
Just need to be able to make effective adjustments during the game and to make them quickly when a team does this.
