I find the neighbor kid's balls, frisbees, etc. in our backyard all the time.
When I do - I toss them back over to where the kid can find them.
I always think it's weird that he doesn't just come over and get them.
I think the OP here would have me somewhat cautions and curious - but not quite ready to call the cops.
